Women’s Marine Diesel Training

A 2 day, hands-on course for all levels. Familiarise yourself with marine diesel engines: how they work, what to service and what can go wrong.

“It’s Friday night and I’ve pulled out my engine manual and making additional notes on it. I haven’t gotten so much so quickly out of a course in recent times as what I did these last two days.” Genevieve

Working in a women's only environment fosters a supportive and "no-question-too-silly" approach. The goal of the course is to empower more women to familiarise themselves with, and service their engines.

Designed to get even the most novice boat-owner or crew member comfortable in undertaking yearly service items on their marine diesel engine. With one day theory based and the second day practical, the course will cover:

  • How a 4-stroke marine diesel engine works, from turning the key to the exiting exhaust. What all the parts do and what they're called, as well as a detailed description of the combustion process.

  • Typical regular service items required on all marine diesel engines

  • Common problems, how to identify them, and what to do.
